Greg Casimaty's family has been in Tasmania for 120 years and has owned the land in Cambridge for a hundred years. The family bought all the land in Cambridge for 1,200 Pounds. The site of the current Hobart International Airport was compulsory acquired from the family and the Cranston Parade land next door remains. Greg, as he has stated, has become the "accidental developer due to urban sprawl" and is willing to take on the opportunity. The family originally ran the land prior to the Airport being constructed as a dairy farm. The Casimaty family donated for 30 years to primary schools all the milk that was provided in the morning to the children of Tasmania at a cost of 500 pounds a year. The family was practically giving away half the value of the family farm for 30 years. Quite a contribution during those hard years.
